The Firm

Timothy and Timothy Attorneys was initially established in 2015 by brothers, Lester and Carlo Timothy. In 2017, the firm underwent a relaunch (from the current premises: 69 New Church Street, Gardens, Cape Town), offering a fresh new perspective on legal practice as we traditionally know it – out with the old-school and in with the new-school way of doing things! Whilst the firm is relatively young, our partners and lawyers have a wealth of experience, having personally worked the trenches of top-tier global law firms and listed global corporates (in-house) for many years.

The firm focuses on the following areas of practice: Corporate Commercial Law (including Corporate Tax); Employment Law (including Sports Law); Litigation (including Insurance, Civil and Criminal); Entertainment (including Music and Film); Intellectual Property and Conveyancing. We service the public and private sectors. Our current core clients are prevalent in the following industries:

  • Retail
  • Oil & Gas
  • Construction
  • Mining
  • Insurance
  • Property
  • Insurance
  • Finance
  • Media
  • Music
  • Film
  • Entertainment
  • Engineering & Architecture

We are a full corporate-service law firm, but we remain a family business from root to leaf. Our attorneys are family at heart and our clients are the branches of our family tree. Our primary focus is the growth of our clients’ businesses. “Take Root and Grow” was the slogan of the high school attended by our founders (York High) – which stuck with them throughout their legal careers. It is a slogan we still live up to today.

The very reason for our existence is to provide value-added, cost-effective and super-efficient legal commercial support to our clients, to maintain their sustainable growth year-on-year. The value our clients enjoy lies primarily in our ability to establish efficient commercial solutions within the pillars of the law, because we know our clients’ industries and we know the law! Knowledge is power.

Welcome to our family… “Take Root and Grow”
